Public Relations Sub-Committee

Public Relations (PR) is involved in the transmission of information between the college administration and the student body. PR acts as a middleman, gathering feedback from the student body to the college admin as well as disseminating information from the college to the students.

We are also the public image of the Students’ Council; planning initiatives based on feedback from the students to help unite the college under one AC Spirit. Hence, The objectives of PR can be broken down into three different areas:

Firstly, we act as the Eyes of Council, looking out for the student body and to provide necessities for the everyday college life. Such projects are like the College Planner design, in which PR members created an organized and creative student planner for the college to use.

Secondly, we act as the Ears of Council, listening out to things that can be changed for the better, to foster a stronger college spirit. For example, Student Dialogue Sessions (SDS) are set up by PR to glean important feedback from the student populace, which will then be reviewed by the administration and acted upon accordingly. Moreover, we also maintain a twitter account ‘@ACJClive’ that listens out for important events as well as competition results to bring you the latest updates around the college.

Thirdly, we act as the Voice of Council, providing ways in which we can reach out to the student body. Projects like the Council Voice and Council Website provide key information about our council and planned events. Events like CCA updates also give students first hand updates about competitions from our various CCAs during their seasons.

In conclusion, PR is the platform that links the students and college together, uniting them under the ACS banner.
