This year's teachers' day theme was 'You Are my Sunshine' and is based off the song 'You Are my Sunshine'. The teachers are portrayed as our beacon of light, thus translating to our sunshine. These teachers are the ones who stand by us on our rainy days, some of them even going as far as sheltering us from the rain. Not only are they supportive, they also bring cheerfulness, fun and laughter to our college days, making them as bright as can be. The teachers are also people whom we can look up to, literally and figuratively.
The event itself was a success! The teachers and students both enjoyed the programme planned, with quite a number of students enthusiastically participating in the concert programme as well. The teachers on the other hand, had a ball of a time during the programme and the reception after that, especially with the amazing food prepared by our Parents' Action Team(PAT). All this of course, could not have been achieved without everyone's efforts and what tremendous satisfaction we must all have felt.
The experience of working alongside other CCAs to successfully carry out Teachers' Day has been a fruitful and unforgettable one. For the Performing Arts CCAs, having been given the opportunity to work with such talented young adults was certainly one I felt honoured about. The effort and love put into their work of arts filled me with boundless admiration. As for the other CCAs who have helped us out, MRC, RadioACtive, Christian Fellowship and Photography Society, despite them not being in the spotlight, their passion for their work behind the scenes has truly inspired us all.
For the Ad-Hoc, we had both our ups and downs throughout the planning process. Frankly speaking, we did not know what to expect at all, with Teachers' Day being the first Ad-Hoc for most of us. Although the growing curve was steep, we managed to pull ourselves together and work our differences out, along with the help of our lovely teachers, Miss Nat and Mrs Goh. The Ad-Hoc is grateful and feels blessed to have been given this opportunity to plan the very first official event planned by the 39th Students' Council.
